The joy of making an engagement ring

Hello again

Thank you for all of the positive comments about my first blog, I hope you enjoy this one as much.

I have known the customer who commissioned this beautiful solitaire since he was about 16 years old. We met through a family friend and what impressed me most, was how mature he was. Despite the age difference, there was an immediate connection and we have kept in touch over the years.

When he contacted me recently to discuss designing an engagement ring, it made me very happy. What I really enjoyed about our discussions, was the freedom that he gave me to educate him about diamonds and design. The perfect customer really – very trusting, and confident to allow us to do what we do best.

We were able to source the most amazing diamond for him; he really wanted to give his partner the ‘wow’ ring, so the pressure was on for us to deliver.

The making of the ring was a true joy for me. I knew from our discussions, that he would love what I had in mind; a simple solitaire with a beautiful warm, rich rose gold band, and a white gold setting to enhance and celebrate the amazing brilliant cut diamond.

The finished ring turned out exactly as I had planned, and technically, one of the most beautiful solitaire diamond rings I have made.

It is amazing to have the opportunity to be a part of this very special step in a couple’s journey, especially when they are a good friend, and one that I will cherish always.

It is gratifying to start to build my own customer base within such an amazing family business. This gives me confidence and belief, that I am a part of something that will continue for another generation.

Until the next blog.

Cheers

Matt
