A stunning transformation
How did Nicholas and Matthew turn these broken rings into this stunning new one?
The re-modelling that we do at PIKE doesn’t always happen by choice. In this case, the owner of these rings broke her finger and the rings had to be cut off at the hospital. Nicholas and Matthew determined that the rings were unable to be repaired without risking the safety of the central yellow diamond, so they came up with a new concept to use all of the diamonds in a new ring.
It also provided a wonderful opportunity to use some family diamonds, adding a beautiful historical element to the ring.
As always, Matthew hand made the ring, starting with a blank piece of white gold,
working the metal step-by-step into the band of the ring,
and then the bezel for the yellow diamond
soldering it all together,
and setting the diamonds
into this stunning new ring that now has a beautiful extra element of family history.
